My name is Melanie and I live in Washington, DC. “mmmetropolis” began as a 2010 New Year’s resolution. Facing a brand new decade, I wanted to write but I needed a project to get me doing so on a regular basis.  Plus, having recently graduated from college, I missed having a forum to discuss what I was reading (there’s only so much of this friends will politely tolerate).

The blog is primarily about books, but I occasionally describe my daily adventures and comment on other things – like old movies and Mad Men and guacamole.
